Goalie question
In a 12 team roto keeper league, we do an auction then draft after auction. It's start 2G any given night. G stats are W, Saves, Save%, GAA
Going into auction I have Hellebyuck, Georgiev, Shesterkin and Sorokin (The latter are minor league players and can be carried over for free ie; no salary/keeper spots) Can only keep 2 goalies end of season (minus MLP, cutoff is 27gp)
I have NYR locked down betwen Shesty and George, I got Hellebyuck who is one of the last workhorse goalies in the league.
The question I pose to you fine gentlemen. Should I target Varlamov at our auction to lock up the Isle tandem or should I spend my monies elsewhere to improve upon my team?

I’m gonna go the other way. I think that this season (if there is a season) is going to be condensed and having tandems are going to prove ultra important. Two tandems and Hellebuyck would be outstanding.

My concern is that there's a not-insignificant chance Sorokin might not play much. If you're wanting tandems, would be a lot cheaper to grab Broissoit for dirt cheap. Varlamov will cost you a lot more for someone you're not going to keep.
But yeah otherwise I'm in the "spend your money on skaters" camp.

I would spend on skaters... every GM will be dealing with the condensed schedule, so get an edge on skater cats and pick up an available back-up later - who will play abnormally high # of games this season.

Agree w/others. $$$ for skaters.
If you have 3 teams worth of goalies: WPG, NYR... and NYI... that's when you start "benching starts" - which just isn't a good use of fantasy hockey investment.
Roll with WPG & NYR... and if a 3rd goalie team falls into your lap, fine, but don't pay for it.
