    Default Nedeljkovic vs Montembeault

Who would you rather have in a dynasty league going forward? I have seen both of them thought of pretty highly skillset wise, just curious what people think here going forward.

    • Montembeault looks stuck between Bob and Knight, but doesn't mean he doesn't have that skill to make it in the NHL.
    • Nedeljkovic has Reimier and Mrazek which seems like a lower bar to entry, but you never know.

    Goalies: W/GAA/SV%/SO

    Thanks in advance!

I'd hold onto Nedeljkovic simply for the opportunity to play in a bigger role. Monty is stuck behind Bob.

Nedeljkovic is the one to own unless you need spot starts today.

Another (clear) vote for Nedeljkovic. Both Mrazek and Reimer are signed for just one more season after this one, which kind of adds up nicely for Nedeljkovic, doesn't it?

Not high on Montembeault. He's been consistently below .900 at every level since leaving the OHL. He might have some longer-term upside, he's just not ready now.

Nedeljkovic should be in the NHL next year as the backup for Carolina, barring injuries changing the timetable, or a trade of Reimer, which seems quite possible later in the year if a team needs a goalie.

Only problem with that is Reimer still having a few years left on his own deal.

In related news, Montembeault has been sent to the AHL and replaced by Chris Driedger.

So one door opener replaced by another while Bobrovsky goes full Bryzgalov? Fun!

Nedeljkovic's contract turns to 1-way next year so he is in the NHL or getting waived, which is not likely for CAR to do. Reimer is as good as gone next year.
I can't promise I'll try but I'll try to try.

One-way doesn't necessarily mean he has to go through waivers, those are mutually exclusive. Waiver eligibility is determined based on age/service time. I'm not sure if Nedeljkovic meets any of those, so he could need to go through waivers. Just wanted to clear up that common misconception.

One/Two-way contracts simply just determine how much the players make at each level.

In this case he will require waivers next year according to Cap Friendly. However, it's important to note that one way contract DOES NOT mean he requires waivers. They're two separate things. Tons of vets are on two-way contracts and require waivers.

So what does it mean for him next year, given his one-way contract? He can sent down without going through waivers?

Like I said in this case he does require waivers because of rules (age, etc). It has nothing to do with his contract becoming one-way. Cap Friendly has a ton more info on this. I trust them.

OK, thanks. So he will be in the NHL unless CAR wants to risk losing him. He will likely be claimed.
