Ya, one has to think Morrissey's deal really came into play in making this one work.

Good signing for both teams. Nurse will get a bigger role this year with Sekera out for a bit so it's definitely a solid bridge deal.

I know no one wants to hear this but it's a good signing by Chiarelli.

Less? I would have thought more.. I have a lot of regard for Morrisey. More so than Nurse. But to me, Theo is the top of that pile.

Great deal for both parties. Nurse "might" become the big-time, #1 shutdown dman (I really hope he does), but instead of paying him for the potential (where the risk is high), give him a couple of years to prove himself.

If he develops that way, I will have no problem with the Oilers paying him $7 million a year in two years time. I wouldn't want him getting $5 million a year now, just in case he doesn't pan out.

Montour got 3.4M. I say Theo gets either close to 4, or over 4.

I meant for players. You can't really quantify if a player is a winner or not. Offense and defense are much easier to evaluate and GMs tend to pay for offensive stats more than more complicated defensive stats.

When Nurse played in the OHL, he got stronger and better each year. I expect the same in the NHL. Good signing for both sides.
