So he's only 21 and has played in the SHL on and off for the last 3 seasons, put up meh numbers and last year spent time in Allsvenskan. He's got Hart coming hard and fast as a blue chip prospect and I can't imagine his value is huge at the moment.

Now this thing that confused me is that Dobber prospect guide has him categorized as "take in the first few rounds" and is 10th and 12th on the the goalie prospect lists.

I know stats aren't everything, especially with goalies but am i missing something?

Should i be taking a flyer on him if he's still available and I have room on my dynasty Roster?

I would take a chance on him. There have been lots of top-end goalie prospects that never end up making it. So if Hart stumbles even the slightest, it might open the door for Sandstrom. Or if he is as good as people think and Hart doesn't allow any opportunity, the Flyers might be able to trade him.

i took him in my league as stacked in minors.

Goalies are so unpredictable, but if he has the opportunity i think he'll take it. Plus you never know, he might get traded and be a starter in another team. I'm thinking Jonathan Quick gets injured, LA trades and bam sandstrom is now a starter

Sandstrom is a decent goalie prospect. He could eventually become a low-end starter but he needs a trade out of Philly.

Now Soderstrom who is also 21,put up sparkling #s in the SHL on 16/17 and is coming to the nhl/ahl next year IMO should be ranked higher. Yes he's got Sorokin to compete with but who knows if he's ever coming.

If Sandstrom was coming to the AHL next year I'd say they'd be closer to equal.

Oh well appreciate the input fella's!

I would put Soderstrom slightly ahead of Sandstrom but I don't see much of a difference between the two.

Yes, you should take a chance on him. I'm not big on goalie prospects generally, but with a deep minors bench you need some. At this moment, we don't know how fast Hart is coming, but the Flyers crease is a huge mess, that can have any of 6 guys currently in the organization be the nominal starter in 2019-20. Sandstrom is the least likely of those guys, but it's possible. Due to roster crunch in Lehigh Valley, he will be in the SHL again this year.

Ahead of him are:
NHL: Elliott, Neuvirth
Both expiring after this year, I doubt they bring both back, perhaps neither. If one of Stolarz/Lyon impresses enough, one may get dealt - that would be Neuvirth, I'd think.

AHL: Lyon, Stolarz
Both have seen NHL time, I think one or both will be up at some point again this year. If Stolarz didn't get hurt last year, he had a real good shot to be the backup this year. One of these guys or both could end up in the ECHL for a bit, especially if they get hurt.

Somewhere: Hart
I'm in the minority that thinks he may play some in the ECHL this year. Just so you know, the Flyers ECHL team is in Reading, about an hour from the AHL team in Lehigh Valley, and both are about 1.5 hours from the arena in Philly. So while it may sound crazy, it's not remotely out of the question to give him some starts there so that local fanbase sees him, then he moves up.

SHL: Sandstrom
He needs to play well enough in the SHL to get into the mix for 2019-20. I think he's over here that year, the question is where.

His poor stats last year were in large part to some medical issues he was having related to Mono and a weird diaphragm hernia in his chest. Reports from the Flyers prospect camp were that he looked rock solid and all those issues are firmly in the past.
