    Default Antti Raanta

This is a bit of a stretch, but I'm curious to see what you guys think. I won my league last year and in the process I gave up a fair amount of picks in our upcoming draft. My first pick is in Round 5 (56th overall) of a 12 team snake draft.

I'm keeping Matt Murray, but I'm a bit concerned about his injury history and what goaltending options will be available come the 5th round. A lot of guys hold on to 2 goalies in our pool so the run in the draft usually starts pretty early.

Given this info, is there any chance you would keep Raanta and try to flip someone like Giroux or Kessel for a pick? Or would you keep the 5 I mentioned and see what happens in the draft?

    Thanks!

If you take a look at our forum mock draft you may get a sense of what goalies may be available by your pick: https://forums.dobbersports.com/show...k-Draft-PICKS/

I would definitely try selling high on Giroux though. If you get a player back, great. If you can recoup picks and keep Raanta, even better.

I agree with this. I might even be willing to keep Raanta over Murray, but I'm a bit against Pittsburgh goalies.

I took a look at the mock draft. If you treat the first 5 rounds as equal to the 5 keepers per team in my league, that basically equates to me drafting in the 10th. Only goalies left were Markstrom and Elliott which is as depressing as I had figured.

I'm not fully sold on Pittsburgh goalies either, but I ended up shipping out Jake Allen in a deal that brought back Murray. I held Allen for a couple years and I have absolutely zero faith in him, regardless of the improvements the team made. Raanta basically won it for me last year in the playoffs so it's pretty tempting to hold on to him and see if Arizona takes another step this year.

Other option is to package Murray with Giroux. Bring back a star player (or a goalie upgrade) and then draft Raanta. Just another option to consider if you're not as high on Murray. Don't let his injury history scare you away from value if you do decide to move him. Only trade him as you would a top asset.

Murray is legit. I'd be happy keeping him with your league settings. However, Raanta is quite the sleeper. He's not a lock to repeat those numbers last year, but I think the team has gotten better, which can't hurt his numbers.

I'd be looking to deal Giroux or Kessel for a pick and keep both Murray and Raanta.

If that's indeed the case, then Raanta is a keep
