How well does this season he's having represent what we will see going forward? He's having a really good season, but is it something he can maintain going forward?

I mean he's not going to be a multi cat guy but I think he'll be good for 60+ going forward.

Exactly! He will only get better as DET goes thru their rebuild.

It depends on how far forward you are looking. As Detroit can rebuild their core and develop solid players, I think what we're seeing this year can be the norm. But if I'm putting together a list of guys who might disappoint next season, based on their performance this season, Larkin would be on it (much like I had Guentzel on said "list" last year). Not a knock on the kid, and not someone who I wouldn't want on my team, but I just don't see enough talent around him yet to comfortably predict that we've seen his floor.

Some good points here thanks. I am worried about his ability to repeat next year, although I'm not really after competing next year, just trying to get an idea of what to expect from him in the future.

He is likely going to be a 65-70 point guy who wins Faceoffs and does a little bit of everything else for you. I've heard him compared to Jonathan Toews.

65-70 seems too high to me.

I think 55-60 is more realistic, with the odd 60-65 pt season.

60+ easily for me. He is a stud and every time I see him play he makes me sadder and sadder that I traded him away last year in his down season. He has the physical tools, the intelligence and the drive to be a star player and I am an idiot.

Haha, I like your point of view. I can't say I've ever really watched him, so I don't know, I'd heard good things, but good things don't always translate to good fantasy value.

Trust me, he is an awesome hockey player. I've watched him in NCAA, NHL and World Cup of Hockey. The latter he played poorly and started off a whole sophomore season of getting caught up in frustration, bad penalties etc. After the trade deadline, naturally, after I traded him, he started picking it up again. In his rookie year like this one, he has displayed smarts (his best quality) and drive. He is a very clever player blessed with great hands. He is Jonathan Toews 2.0 and may end up being better.

I hate that I traded him and worse, that I kept the worst hockey prospect around in Sam Bennett over him. As I said, I am an idiot. 15 Year mistake. Oh well.
