How to fix the NHL All-Star Game

I've got a few ideas.

1. Take it outside. It's supposed to be a show.. so make it a full on show.

2. Take it to a non-NHL market. Seattle, Quebec City, Houston, Kansas City... even previous NHL markets - Atlanta, Hartford... Great for exposure. I think players would also enjoy visiting a new city.

3. Winner Bonus's - This is where I think you'll find a bump in player effort. $10 000 to each player on losing team - $50 000 to each player on the winning team. So, you respond, they're rich, don't need any more money. Ahh.. but you make this a donation to each players charity of choice. All of a sudden, you've got players playing for a personal passion. You will get good hockey.

4. The money from the skills competition should also be donated to charity.
MVP.. stop giving them a vehicle they passed over in the dealership for the Land Rover anyway.

I enjoy the skills competition but have zero interest in the game .

Allow all players to take part in the skills competition, not just those in the ASG. If a team's #6 dman has a crazy slapper that he rarely uses, let him try it out against Weber and Chara. Let Paul Byron compete in the fastest skater competition.

Also, just get rid of the game itself. They ruined the concept. The horse is tired of being beaten posthumously.

From a business perspective, I agree with all points. The quality of play will never change... but more of a winner incentive can never hurt.

Mayweather and MacGregor each captain a team and it's played inside a frozen octagon with Rogan doing play by play. The card carrying ladies can scrape the ice.
