Default Trying to trade for Schwartz

I would love to have Schwartz on my team to go along with Schenn. But I'm trying to figure out who to offer. This owner is savvy, but he's also a Caps fan so I might get some leverage if I offer Kuzy and/or Carlson. His team is absolutely killer... he has Gaudreau, Laine, P. Kane, Bergeron, Marchand, Tkachuk and Granlund as his other F's, so he certainly can give up Schwartz's points. His D is not bad either, Doughty, Pietrangelo, Krug, Zaitsev, and Yandle. So there's not a lot I can offer him without gutting my team.

I wondered if maybe sending Kuzy + Carlson might make sense. It hits his heartstrings, and could be argued that it's a good PPP tandem for him. In return I'd ask for Schwartz alone, or maybe Schwartz plus one of his D's. Kuzy had a nice night tonight, which could make him more attractive. Or it might make him more valuable to me and so I should hold tight. My team is in a death spiral right now and I'm looking for answers. Thoughts?

    Thanks!

Kuzy and Carlson is a big overpayment imo. I'd offer just kuzy and go from there. I still think Kuznetsov > Schwartz but if you're big on him then go for it.

You're buying at an all time high on Schwartz. I don't think now is a good time to trade for him.
I can't promise I'll try but I'll try to try.

Yeah I'd also be weary of trading for him. No way he sustains his shooting percentage.

Seems like you want Schwartz more than it's the right move for your team. Trading is as much about making your team better but also if you're making your trading partner even better then it defeats the purpose if he is already one of the top teams.

I would do Kuzy - Schwartz.. I would not add Carlson. MZac's got it nailed.

Exactly this, plus his numbers suggest he might be looking at some regression

Completely agree with this. Wait until Schwartz cools off / goes into a slump and see if you can buy lower on him.
