    Newbie indeed. "He was the only waiver exempt Dman..." Who else do you send down and risk having them be taken for nothing?

    While a bit lacking in tact, I think the OP wanted to know if anyone had local info on any plans to bring him up anytime soon...impending trades, injuries, or some other roster move in the works (or rumored to be) to get the guy who is arguably their best D man up to NHL. We all get why he is odd man out down on the farm team.

    Vegas keeps winning.. and no trades yet. I say it's January before we see Shea.

    MY question is, of the guys getting the most pp time -- Hunt, Miller and Schmidt-- do any of them have a 40 point season in them? I don't see enough ice time to put up a lot of shots and blocks...I remember Hunt from last year with Blues having some nice games, due to his offensive skills, then being exposed as a very slow skater. He's got 4 pts in four games.

    And has anyone seen a good analysis or explanation re. how Vegas is doing this? It's truly remarkable.

    Yost had an interesting short read on team shooting percentage and how New Jersey and Vegas are riding some regression bound percentages...

    The really weird thing is why they are so afraid of putting Reinhart on waivers to send him down. GMGM has some smart ideas and some very puzzling ones.

    I think that VGK is very cognizant of the fact that a lot of teams weren't necessarily happy about losing players in the expansion draft and regardless of whether these guys were going to be top 6/top 4, teams saw a role at some point for taking these players and signing them. To put them on waivers to send them down just gives the programs the players came from an opportunity to take them back at no cost... At the same time, current teams may not value these guys more than their draft picks right now... Which leaves VGK where they sit.

    Brad Hunt, wicked offensive skill set PP specialist - but he's never been given an extended opportunity in the NHL. pt/gm Dman in the AHL for several years. Over an extended period... basically Theodore is the only one I would bet on (and obviously not this year)

    No. Vegas will cool off and regress considerably. They will be lucky to get 30, or the best of them, whoever that ends up being.

    The news I saw is that they sent him down on a conditioning stint and not full time. He can spend 2 weeks in the minors for conditioning before he has to come back up. So likely this is just a temporary move.

    They sent him down on a conditioning stint and then waived him yesterday

    Domingue (ARIZ) & Reinhart (LV) on waivers today

    @TSNBobMcKenzie

    With Garrison clearing waivers and G Reinhart on waivers, expectation is VGK will later today recall D Shea Theodore from CHI (AHL)

    Colin Miller is now riding a 4 game point streak (5pts). I feel like he may have potential to at least come close to 40. Though with Theodore seemingly on the way up that may eat into his totals and PP time. Only time will tell I suppose.
