Your Fun & Clever 2017-2018 Fantasy Hockey Team Names

The guys in RHRS have gotten really good with some of their team names this year.
I know some of you out there are into renaming your teams post-draft.

This year I'm going with:
Fowlers in the Attic (RHRS. Own Cam Fowler. Name is supposed to be horror-related)
Ghosties Be Here (Iron League. Drafted Ghost.)
Junky Blue Saab (DobberPRO. This one is a bit vague, but I drafted OV #4 overall... and in a booked "A Man Called Ove", the guy drives a blue Saab. My team frustrated me, it feels junky and wanted to cry... so...)
Graham Quackers (Dobber Fantasy Football, drafted Jimmy Graham)

Mariota Had a Little Lamb - In my single season football league I drafted Mariota, and one of my good buddies in the league, his last name is Lamb and he is a Vikings Fan. So I tossed this as my team name, then got a picture of Mary and her lamb, and put a Vikings Logo on the lamb.


Redneck Gurley - I am in a league full of huge Country Music fans. This year I drafted Gurley and named my team after the hit by the Bellamy Brothers. Last year I names it after a George Strait tune 'All My Flexes Live in Texas'

Flyers are ahead of the Penguins - I volunteer at a youth centre and there are a bunch of Crosby and Penguin fans and they always give me a hard time about being a Flyers fan. We had our annual draft last night and I entered the teams after the games were over last night. Flyers won, Penguins lost, so I named my team that, cause I haven't had much opportunity to bug them the last few years cause the Penguins have been good. Note - These are all the leagues I am in where other GMs use creativity with there names. My other hockey leagues team names are just from movies. YoungBlood, Mystery Alaska

I always end up with Evander Kane on my teams. I've embraced it this year with the name I Kane Quit You.

I have Bo Horvat on my team, and I'm "Tecmo Bo'" with a picture of Bo Jackson spiking the football with "TOUCHDOWN BO HORVAT" under it.

Last yr i switched my team name to Va-Sieve-Levskiy when he was letting everything in. Now I'm "My Delectable Darlin" with a picture of Alfalfa from The Little Rascals (I have Darling on my team)

Julio Think You Are is prolly my fave football team name I've had. This yr I'm I like Bald K.Hunts.....Or Suter Island and I photoshopped the Shutter Island movie poster to be Suter Island.

One of my personal faves for one of my teams was "Let the Right Muzzin" a couple years ago in the Rocky Horror Roto Show. I had Muzzin and named the team after the vampire flick "Let the Right One In".

I've used "The Angry Ewoks" in a Star Wars themed pool.

One of my favorites was actually my brother's decision to call his team "Gord Downie's Kiss" after he famously gave each of his band mates a smooch on the lips before their last performance. Timely and a true testament to being a band / team.

Good idea for a thread. I was thinking of posting something similar today. I try to come up with a name based on 1 or more players on my team but also try to avoid the names that are played out ( Example- I have Carey Price this year but how many times has "The Price is Right" been used?)
Last year my team name was Auston 3:16 ( because Matthews was one of my best players). This year I am "Certified G's" because 3 of my best forwards are Gaudreau, Giroux and Granlund

I sometimes change my name just for a week or two as a joke after I land a big player. I managed to get Keller for free after I had fallen out of contention so i was mulling over something like that- Serial Kellers, Keller Be Kelled- in the end I chickened out- lol! If he only puts up 40 points Ill look like a noob- lol! Maybe after his first four goal night Ill do it :P
