Lindgren in Montreal (could steal the backup gig) and Gillies in Calgary (eventually, could be called up and stick barring an injury) come to mind.

It's been mentioned on these forums before but Jarry in Pittsburgh is worth keeping an eye on. If Murray misses a chunk of time with an injury Jarry could steal the starter's gig from Niemi. He's got the talent to be a starter in the NHL someday, probably won't be in Pittsburgh, but he's a guy worth stashing in dynasty leagues.

I read an interesting thing last night.
With the M.Subban waiving, Vasilevskiy is the only first round drafted goalie in the last TEN years to be on an NHL team.
Goaltending is such a mental position, teams are value-drafting goalie late, developing them long, or finding that journeymen goalies (Cam Talbot, Scott Darling) or Euro-goalie... and those guys are panning out just fine.

The NHL really has very few spots for the taking among young goalies.
Vasilevskiy is one of the last to take a spot... mostly because TB had a cap crunch.
Hellebuyck was the previous last guy to get a shot and showed he wasn't quite ready for NHL-level competition.
We saw Petr Mrazek fall on his face last year (and some articles suggest his pro-maturity leaves something to be desired).

I think teams/GMs are really realizing that they need to hold their goalies for a long-time (age 23+) before getting them a significant NHL role.
And even then, they have to be careful not to overwork them.

    So... this year, IDK.
One of the more interesting situations is probably Nashville. The team is young & emerging.
They've got two more years of Pekka Rinne (age 34) and they've got Juuse Saros (age22) in final year of his RFA.
I think we might see Nashville do what TB/PIT did:
    1. Try to get the young kid under a solid 2-3 year contract.
    2. If the numbers are good, and he plays well... realize you might be able to move on from the veteran (as TB did with Bishop, PIT did with Murray/Fleury).

In 18/19 or 19/20, we'll see Vancouver bring up Thatcher Demko (21 currently)...
And that may be the next great prospect goalie.

But, I really don't see any prospect worth keeping an eye on THIS season - except Saros.

[All that said, watch out for Aaron Dell, age 28 slow-playing a long-career Talbot/Darling style. He had great numbers as a back-up last year. Do that for two years, a la Talbot/Darling - who were BOTH age 28 upon their big signings, and BAM - somebody could take a chance on you.]
