    Edmonton Oilers‏ @EdmontonOilers
The #Oilers have also assigned forward Jesse Puljuj?rvi to the Bakersfield @Condors.
I would guess this means Yamamoto starts the season in the NHL.

I watched the game last night and Yama was clearly more noticeable than Jesse. They still have Slepyshev and Pakarinen who would be more suitable to the lower lines so I still have my doubts he sticks more than 9. This is probably more of a reward for having a great camp.

I like when teams keep a young player showing promise to start the year. To me it's not about getting to 9 games. If he had success and chemistry in the preseason try to ride it out for a week into the real season. The standings are always so tight and goals are not easy to produce. Every point matters.

Dam. Thought for sure Puljujarvi would get a full season in the NHL. Can't wait to see how Yamamoto does, kid is a real stud.

Hasn't been confirmed but I think he'll be sent down. He had a solid camp but with giroux playing wing it hurt his chances. Yesterday he practiced on their 5th line with lehtera and read- this doesn't bode well for him this deep into the preseason.

It's definitely possible he gets sent to junior before the 10th game but that will be up to him - if he impresses during those 9 games, he has a chance to stay with the team for 40 games before his UFA age is affected. If he impresses enough during that time, he can stay with the team for the entire season. What's important is getting that first chance - being able to play even one real NHL game is very important.

As an Oilers fan, this actually makes me happy. Puljujarvi starting in the AHL isnt a bad thing at all but Im sure the Oiler haters will spin it that way.

Yamamoto will get his nine games to prove he can play against NHL rosters and not preseason rosters. Any Oiler fan hopes he does just that but uf he can't, again like Puljujarvi, he can be sent back down for more seasoning.

The interesting question about Yamamoto is what the Oilers do with him should he show that he can play in the NHL in his first 9 games. Do they keep him around?
I can't promise I'll try but I'll try to try.

    Puljujaarvi down: http://edmontonjournal.com/sports/ho...layer-and-team

Kamenev still around with the Preds. Could be last cut or last man up. Probably not much more than bottom six this year.

According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, there is some buzz in Philly that Taylor Leier beat out Lindblom for a spot on the Flyers, but the official decision will come after todays (sunday) game vs the Islanders.

I have Hischier at 55 points this year.
