Marner, since it's not goal-centric

Marner for me as well. But Nylander won't be far behind IMO.
Yesterday I went through data of the top prospects from the past 10 years of entry drafts, and one thing I hadn't realized before was that the only player with better age-17 season than Marner from the past 10 years in the CHL has been Connor McDavid. That's right - Marner is tied with John Tavares for 2nd best age-17 season of the past 10 years when taking league quality into consideration (Drouin had better PPG average but that was in the 'Q' which isn't nearly as good as the OHL is - I used NHLe for this). I think it's fair to say Marner's upside is as high as anyone's not named McDavid.
At the same time, William Nylander's age-16 season at the U20 level in Sweden was by far the best I managed to find from the past 10 years but we just don't have enough data points to compare his season against others and he only played 27 games that year, so it's just difficult to say how great it actually was. He spent his age-17 season playing against men on a smaller role and he also bounced between teams and leagues, so it's impossible to draw any conclusions from that.
Of course junior production isn't everything but both these guys have proven they can translate their offensive games to the NHL, so that's the only deciding factor I can find right now. I'm a big fan of William Nylander but I think this is one of those rare cases where I would take the other guy instead of him.
I would go with Marner as well. Nylander is good, but why not have a player with no concussions

Marner for the sheer talent.
Nylander is obviously close behind though and takes plenty of sog, which is comforting.
This year W. Nylander and Marner where both on the trade block. Tried getting Nylander first, we have extra point for goals in our league. But manager who had Nylander wouldn't trade him. I tried a couple offers he just rejected. Never made counteroffer. This owner has only made 1 trade in our league, as I made about 20+ trades. I guess he is the guy that puts unrealistic prices on his players. I made trade with another GM got Marner for a 5th round. But I really wanted Nylander as he plays with Matthews and PP1.

I owned both last season. Had folks asking about both. I asked for (and generally everyone agreed) more for Marner.
I think his upside is immense.
But Nylander's no slouch either.
Ended up dealing Marner+ for Kucherov. And I'm generally worried I'll regret it sooner than later.

Red Wings top scorers when Babcock was coaching:

2011-12: Zets (69), Dats (67), Filppula (66)
2012-13: Dats (49), Zets (48), Frazen (31) LOCKOUT
2013-14: Alfy (49), Kronwall (49), Zets (48)
2014-15: Zets (66), Dats (65), Tatar (56)
The years Dats put up 90+ points were the years the league leaders were putting up 110+pts. Babcock doesn?t really breed MAJOR top end scoring. He uses his depth a ton. So Marner has the talent to put up 80+ pts, but will he? If Matthews puts up 80, Nylander puts up 60-70, and Marner puts up 60-70.
That?s just my guess. If Nylander puts up 60, Marner does 70, if Marner does 60, Nylander does 70. Just depends yr to yr I think. I do think Marner is better than Nylander tho
