My take: to each their own. If you don't find use for those stats don't use them. They're not for casual pools but I'm sure there's a couple dozen leagues that will benefit from them.

ZoneStarts is actually kind of interesting. No idea how Fantrax is setup for it, but for pools that try to find a way to make all sorts of players valuable (and isn't that the point of roto?), ZS might be the best possible stat for recognizing the work of defensive players.

Mikael Backlund would be finally be a good player in a pool with defensive zone starts, for example.

Or Sean Couturier. Imagine not being disappointed just because the stud prospect you drafted gets his offensive numbers tanked because the coach recognizes how good he is as an "200 ft" hockey player.

I'm assuming you could set it up so that DZS% is rewarded. Counting OZS% seems redundant with all the other offensive stats we already have.

I've been in leagues using PK TOI, which in a sense rewards defensive players. DZS% is the first "advanced stat", though, that I'd be open to...

Maybe simple DZS and not DZS%?

My reasoning is players that are good at both ends will obviously be deployed at both ends which will being down their percentage.
