    Default 10th overall in entry

    Hey everyone,

I have 10th overall in our upcoming entry draft with only 2017 draftees available. I'm pretty sure that the these guys will be gone before then:

    Hischer
    Patrick
    Glass
    Makar
    Mittelstadt
    Heiskanen
    Vilardi

I'm not sure at all who will go 8th and 9th...

Who are my best options, in order, at 10th?

    Cats in sig.

    Thanks in adavance.

    1) Elias Pettersson
    2) Nicholas Suzuki
    3) Owen Tippett

There's actually a bit of a gap after these guys, so you're lucky to get one of them. After them, I'd have Rasmussen, Andersson, Yamamoto and Necas coming next.

Timothy Liljegren was once ranked in the top 3, but illness sidelined his season, and his ranking dropped. I'd be willing to gamble on him and stash him away on a farm team (provided you have one, of course).

I'm in a 2nd year Dynasty and had the 12th pick in our current prospect draft and took Liljegren for the same reason (imagine him QBing the Leafs PP in a few years).

You don't pick Tolvanen over Pettersson, Suzuki, Yamamoto, Kostin, Necas, Tippett.

When he has one of the best games ever by an 18 year old, 3 goals 1 assist, in the KHL sure you do. You may not but I would. He has a better shot and better vision than the players you listed.

My next three would be Pettersson, Suzuki, Necas if it plays out like you think.

Then you trade down and get another asset.

Picking Tolvanen at 10 is not a smart pick.

Let's not overreact because of one game because that's all it is - just one game. He's never going to get that much space and time in the NHL. And he didn't actually even have a great game - just a great 3rd period when the game was pretty much decided already. Other than that, his game was just OK in my opinion.

His shot is amazing but the other areas of his game still need improvement more than the other guys ranked above him. Everyone was well aware of his shot in June already, so it's not like anything has really changed since then.

Also, since Tolvanen didn't meet the academic requirements to play college hockey, he signed to play with Jokerit in the KHL, which leaves him open to something similar to what happened recently with Kaprizov.

I own Kaprizov... Trust me, it's not a great feeling to see your prospect sign for 3 years in the KHL just when you thought he was close to coming over.

I bet this is why Tolvanen slipped so much in the draft, NHL GMs also saw this risk.

I'm with the others here, Tolvanen should not be picked before Pettersson, Suzuki, Yamamoto, Necas or Tippett so if that's who you want, trade down to get him.
    On a fantasy hockey break.

For what it's worth, Tolvanen went 17th in our minor draft.

I'd trade down then, I took him 18th in ours after I took Klostin 14th. The only other 18 year olds over 7 goals for a season in the KHL (Kuzy/Tarasenko/Kaprizov). I'm guessing he will be in the same breath as them.

From what I can see, he's all over the place.
