    Default Rank these Defencemen (rep)

Prepping for the re-draft. I have 4 keeper d men already (in sig) but will need to add a few more in the draft.

What order would we put the following players in for league in signature?

    Barrie
    Keith
    Ekblad
    Trouba
    Suter
    Vatanen
    Jones
    Brodie
    Vlassic

Fill your forwards out first. Trouba is the one of that set that I would reach for though.
Ekblad and Gio would be the next two on my list

    Thanks EB.

FYI I am not saying I am going to go after these D men first in the draft, just asking which ones I might want to target first if they are still available after I have filled out most of my forwards

    That makes sense haha.

I'll tier Brodie and Barrie as my bottom two guys here. Barrie over Brodie though. The rest are all kind of in that middle tier together, so wait for one to drop.

I like this ranking, except Suter a bit higher and Ekblad a bit lower

Based on your categories, for next season, I'd be looking at Giordano, Trouba, Jones, Suter and Ekblad.

Seems like a lot of love for Trouba. After reading Rizzee's Cage Match, not sure if Trouba's production is that guaranteed...

I think people want Trouba to succeed and are putting a lot of weight on his very productive stretch to end 2016-17. It reminds me of when Brayden Schenn played the last half of 2015-16 at point per game level, and many thought he'd turned a major corner, yet it turned out to be a blip in his radar. For the reasons discussed in the column, I can't put stock in Trouba being more than a 35 point guy for at least the time being.

With goals worth so much, Ekblad is being undervalued perhaps. Shooting percentage was abysmal last year--he shoots a lot. Still had ten goals.

TOCanadafan had a nice group to target methinks.

Agree with EB re Forwards and I'd be targeting that crew in this order.

    Trouba
    Ekblad
    Giordano
    Barrie
    Vatanen/Jones
    Keith/Suter
    Brodie
    Vlassic
