I can free up about 2M by dropping Zack Smith for a cheap fa option. For the remaining $3,214,166 I'm at a loss. Current ideas are to move Perreault or Couturier for a future pick/prospect, but no idea who I can reasonably target.

I'd be looking to move Ekblad. Excellent real-life dman, but I don't think he will ever live up to a 7.5 mil tag for fantasy purposes.

Ekblad and Lu are the two that jump out at me. But depends what you can replace them with.

I'd be increasingly nervous about Lu's starts. And Ekblad's contract is massive.

Don't move Ekblad now.....Would be the worst time to move him after a very sub par year.

Agreed on Lu, however starting goalies are almost impossible to trade for. I think Rinne went for something like 2 firsts+ last season. However when it comes to ekblad, who to target? He shoots 2nd on a per game basis in terms of defense. He definitely has offensive upside too.

We start 2C, 2LW, 2RW, 4F, 6D, 1G, 5 player bench

I would consider dropping/moving Cogliano.

Ekblad and Luongo are probably the next - but they have value and right now is probably not the time to move them.

I rather drop Cogliano and Smith then take a low return on Luongo and Ekblad.

Luongo would be the one to go for me, contact the Reimer owner
OR make a big splash and trade PRICE before his contract kicks in. There is always Hab fans who want him, even for a cheaper lesser goalie. Mtl has too many question marks going forward - Could get a good haul for him and clear up cap space.

Trade Ekblad, Price and Johansen.

Price is way too expensive for a goalie next year and might as well try and get some value from him while you can

I would move Price, Johansen then Bernier.
You should be able to get a cheaper decent G in return as part of the package for Price (somebody like Talbot, Bishop or Allen).
I would also approach the owner of Reimer to see if there is interest in Bernier to get the handcuff on Luo/Reimer.

Ekblad for sure. I don't see him fulfilling the value of that deal for fantasy purposes. The fact he's young should make him attractive too and hopefully easy to trade.

Luongo is another trade target I'd focus on moving but he could be tougher to move because of his age.
