Ya that deal is solid for you. You would be using the hype around Bob's Vezina-win season to your advantage here. Both Draisaitl and Herman address your needs but I think after this year, you will have a harder time landing Draisaitl than you do now so I'd favour him here.

Thanks for the help boys. I ended up landing Laine and Kapanen 8th and 9th for Bobrovsky and Dubois 1st and 3rd. A slight overpayment but extremely happy with the trade.

If you are extremely happy with the deal, that's all that matters. Sometimes you have to overpay a bit to meet your objectives. Plus if you try to win every single trade, nobody will talk trade with you anymore anyways. Laine is a stud, and PLD is a question mark so far, so I think you did well here. Those 7 keepers are freaking awesome.

Ya I'm def happy. I hope to compete this year. Not sure if I'll have enough to win. I missed the playoffs last season during my rebuild so I'm hoping I can at least make the playoffs. I def have to make good use of my picks in the draft. But I'm certain I have a solid core for years to come.

You have 3 first round picks, and picks in every round. I see no reason why your team can't make the playoffs and be competitive. Good luck, and great job on the rebuild/retool. That's how you do it. Not those crazy 10 year rebuilds where you are always chasing the next big prospect...
