We keep 3. We have expanded to 15 teams for next year. We decided to limit each GM to 2 goalies max on the roster (with another if one gets injured). Before this change I was planning on keeping McDavid, Matthews, and Price. Now I'm thinking McDavid, Price and Vasilevsky...top tier goaltending will be at a premium this year. The new GM will pick his three keepers after all other GMs have selected theirs. And I draft late each round so if either Matthews or Vasilevsky are put into the pool they will be gone by the time of my first pick. Thoughts?

I'd rather keep Mathews and build your squad around him and McDavid + keep Price. 60% of cats are from your forwards so there's a case to be made there.

McD, Price and Mathews and fingers crossed you land a solid G with your 1st pick. What kind of G do you expect to be around at your selection? Can't imagine they'd all disappear in a 15 team draft by round 1. Guys like Buff, Risto and Hamilton are prime assets to lose as well.
Hockey Pools? Too many to mention. Points only, salary cap and dynasty.

Wow that's pretty clear. Thanks guys. In looking at rosters now I expect the following to be kept:
    Holtby
    Quick
    Murray
    Gibson
    Lehner
    Talbot
    Bobrovsky
    Andersen
    Anderson
    Rask
    Elliot
    Bishop
    Jones
    Crawford

Which leaves possibly Rinne, Lundqvist, Dubnyk, Allen, Vasilevsky, Raanata, Mason, Hellebucyk, Darling, Markstrom, and Hallak available for the new GM to grab and then I'm selecting at number 12 in the first round. I guess that leaves a decent chance at a number 2 option?

Yeah, I think keeping 1 goalie is a good move in a keep 3. I assume many other GMs will do the same. Looks like you'll be able to find a good #2 in the draft.

With 10 categories... And looking at the 6 skater categories I'd go against the grain and keep Vas and Proce...

It is somewhat of a weird set-up with the cats your league is counting but I'd still roll with McDavid, Matthews and Price for sure.

I'd target Dubnyk, Allen, or Vasilevsky with your 12th pick. Hopefully one of those falls to you.

    McDavid, Matthews, Price

Gotta go with sticking with Matthews here. If you really want two elite goalies then maybe move Matthews for Holtby or Holtby + but right now I would just stick with those 3 and draft a goalie in the early rounds.

Can you clarify your rules regarding goalies? If I understand this correctly: "2 G max on roster 123 games max", then that means you need to get 61.5 games from each of your goalies to maximize that position. That's a lot of games for a goalie these days, many of them don't play 60+ games anymore. If this is correct, then I would try shopping Matthews for a goalie who is better than Vasilevski (not proven enough for my liking). Maybe you can't get the trade done until after the new guy has selected his team but Matthews won't be losing any value in the meantime, so keep him either way.

All good puts - thanks everyone. Jouko you are correct...2 goalies with 61.5 max games for each for a total of 123. Unfortunately my league is one where it's tough to get GMs to make trades. Bunch of crusty buggers who overvalue their players...particularly goalies. I do see that it makes the most sense to hang onto Price, McDavid, and Matthews and see what falls to me at number 12 in the first round. And then look at trades post draft if I don't like how things shake out. Bring on the draft!!!
