Default Nick Ritchie - Worth A Keeper Spot?

Team in my signature. Coming off a championship win, I can only keep 15 players. I have 20+ guys I'd like to keep so I have some work to do.

Is it worth trying to create a spot for Nick Ritchie, or is he considerably behind my Top 15 guys? I won't get full value if I try and trade him (league isn't as high on him).

Preliminary keepers I'm thinking Atkinson, Backstrom, Barkov, Benn, Couture (or Carter?), Giroux, Kucherov, Ovi, Burns, OEL, Letang, Subban, Andersen, Talbot, Vasilevskiy?

I have a week to finalize keepers. Thanks for any input.

Ritchie is not better than any of the guys you have mentioned... I would not try making spot on him.

I would not even try trading him... IF he is currently under the radar of the league... then don't bring him to anyones attention by trying to trade him... release him... then re-draft him!

He's a redraft at best, especially without PIM

I agree he's not close to your top 15. Only makes sense to keep him if you can pull off a bunch of 2 for 1 deals to improve your existing keepers. I'd probably try trading one of your 4 C keepers; that's an easier position to fill.

Thanks for the input the guys. I know one owner is high on him and would probably draft him (he picks before me), so I maybe I'll try and swing a deal for him there.

not worth a protection spot - throw him back and try redraft if you want. He can be replaced.

If that's the case, I would look to move Ritchie in a 2for1 deal where you get the 1 and its upgrade on the other piece. IF that's a no go, then I would try a 1/4 for 2/3 deal where you're landing the 1/4 and potentially dropping the 4 or your bottom keeper. But it all depends on the strength of the other guys 15 keepers.

With Carter also on the outside looking in I definitely think Ritchie is a tough keep
