Chabot for me. I think Boeser's upside may be a tad higher than Schmaltz' and I was pro-Chabot then so I'm pro-Chabot now
So I previously asked whether you would prefer Boeser or Chabot, but somebody made an interesting comment that they would prefer Chabot over Schmaltz. Would the rest of the community say the same thing. I feel like Schmaltz really came on at the end of last year and developed some good chemistry with both Toews and Kane. I think he has lost his top line LW spot with Toews but now Kane will be searching for a LW.
I really like Schmaltz as a prospect but I also love top quality D prospects. If Chabot does not make the sens then his value will be next to nothing within our format. Since there is only 10 teams and a small farm system, top quality prospects usually not playing in the NHL do not have much value. That being said I have read in multiple places that the Sens will give him every chance to crack their lineup on a nightly basis.
Who would you guys take? The guy who has NHL experience under his belt and 61 games of experience or the guy who tore the Q apart and was possibly Canada's best player in the JR's?

And Chabot wasn't possibly Canada's best player at the WJC, he was the best player in the tournament.

Another Chabot vote for me. I can't shake the feeling that even with Karlsson there Chabot can be fantasy relevant in year 1. Is he not one of, if not, the best prospect D man not playing in the NHL yet.

Another vote for Chabot over Schmaltz. I think Chabot and Boeser is a toss up in a few years time with Chabot getting the edge if you count Hits, Pim and +/-. Just my two cents though.

Chabot gets my vote by a mile here, and I also agree that Boeser has a pretty sizeable advantage over Schmaltz (Boeser has a legitimate shot at a Calder run this year).
I think Schmaltz looked good but not great in CHI last year. I think his production will always be tied to who his linemates are in CHI, like Dupuis was in PIT. He took advantage of injuries and cap issues last year, but those same issues very well may force him to centre the 3rd line, and CHIs bottom 6 looks extra shallow this year.
Conversely, I think Chabot has the ability to dictate the play himself and will someday be the guy that Other D are paired With.
Admittedly, I'm biased as a Sens fan, but I've attended the dev. camps religiously here in Ottawa, and this year he looked like a man among boys. He was solid in every on-ice drill, and on the final day, during the 3-on-3, it was crazy to see the AHL regulars following his lead more often than not.
Dorion has has made it clear that he i some almost expected to make the roster this year. There is still a chance he spends a year in Belleville (which wouldn't be a bad thing), but if so I suspect he will play himself out of Belleville before the year is done.
I'm excited to see this kid develop here in OTT, as he looks like something truly special.
Chabot is easily the best long-term play, but I'm not convinced people are actually considering the OP - if only this upcoming year counts, I'm not sue Chabot is going to put up big numbers. I think this is closer for this year than people are suggesting.
Next year I'd rather Schmaltz, but Chabot has the higher upside long term

If this is only for this year it's still a toss up: I think they'd both get 2nd PP time, although Schmaltz is assured of his spot this year while Chabot isn't a lock. That being said, I don't think either one is going to have a big year this year.
But long run, Chabot has a much higher ceiling than Schultz.
