I didn't see any posts on Yakupov since his trade to Colorado. Can he change anything around, a fresh start, in Colorado and maybe get in the 50pt mark?

It's unlikely but there's always a small chance of that happening with a player as skilled as him. He'll probably get a good opportunity this season, he needs to take advantage of it as it might be his last.

hmmm underwhelming player going to an even more underwhelming team... I would not expect a lot of posts. He was not fantasy relevant before and certainly not now.

I think he could pay off nicely this year. True, he's going to a weaker team. But, it's not like they lack ANY talent for him to play with. And he's not likely to get a better shot at ice time to finally turn it around.

If you can get him for pennies at this point (which, I assume, is likely the case), I think he's a worthy gamble. If it doesn't pan out, you shouldn't be much worse for wear tossing him back.

I certainly like his opportunity more in Colorado than I did in St Louis.

If he's ever going to get his chance to shine, it has to be in Colorado. God knows they could use the scoring and the loss of Grigorenko could open the door for him.

Personally I hope he does well and can turn his career around.

in his first 1 1/2 seasons he showed he has the offensive talent then EDM/STL ruined him by trying to make him a two-way player, if the Avs unleash him with MacKinnon and let him just focus on offense I wouldn't be surprised if he hits 50 points

St Louis didn't ruin him. That credit goes square to Dallas Eakins. He was off to a good start to his career under Ralph Krueger as a rookie. Enter MacT and his "knowledge" by letting Krueger go in year two of Yakupovs career and bringing in the mastermind, Dallas Eakins.

I'm not optimistic about him but if he can't stick in the top 6 in COL then I suspect he will head to the KHL.

The opportunity in Colorado should be there, but that team is in shambles and look what it's done to Mac and Duchene. And who know if he still has the heart or hands to succeed. All told, I think it's unlikely that things align well enough for him to be fantasy relevant again.

Given the best possible opportunity, I think the best you could hope for is 45 points. This would be almost a 40% increase on his career best of 33 points. That is if everything goes perfectly for him, the planets align and two or more wingers have substantial injuries. 45 points aint nothing to sneeze at, but that is likely the best case scenario and it is quite unlikely to happen. You can always find 45 point players on the wire. His value is quite limited.

I expect the Maple Leafs to have 3 Dmen with more points than Yak this coming season. and I only see Gardiner pushing 45.

if last years trend continues, Landy & Duchene will also struggle to hit that over. heh

I'll take the under. I don't foresee a career high coming
