Default Planning my keepers and summer moves...

    Hey Everyone,

I could use a hand trying to figure out what direction I need to take my team this summer with regards to trades and keepers. I came in third this last year and was league champ the previous year so I think that still keeps me in a "win now mode."

At the end of the season I was able to snatch up Keller and Dubois from the wire before the roster freeze happened, so that at least gives you an idea of how they are valued. I can move Keller to only one team, and that's only because he's a Yote's fan. Dubois has almost no trade value and I don't know if it makes any sense to keep him either. So I could really use some help on who to keep and what direction to take my team.

I have bolded who I think are my core, but I need to keep 14, so that leaves four spots available. I still have two months to make trades, but I want to at least get an idea of who are my better pieces before I go making any moves.

    QUESTIONS:
    1. Who are my final four keepers?
    2. Is there more than four players that need to be keepers? If so, who?
    3. Is there anyone in my core that I should be moving because their name value exceeds their actual value?
    4. Any other advise would be greatly appreciated...

Keller, Trouba, Dumba and Elliott would be my last four pieces. Biggest bang for you buck, and allows you to basically just focus on filling out Fs.

To be brutally honest, I think your team is more likely poised to drop further rather than have a realistic chance to win. That being said, if you want to win and because prospects are seemingly ignored based on the Keller and Dubois factor, I think you should try to package Giroux and Carlson - both of whom have far more name value than actual value - for an upgrade at wing, D, or in net. Then keep Thornton for the win now factor. That will still leave you four spots, which I'd fill with Trouba, Keller, Dumba, and a goalie if you don't get one for Giroux and Carlson.

I like brutally honest, that's why I'm asking. Thanks.

Elliott scares me. As a Flames fan I watched him go all over the place and I'm pretty sure he will be an easy redraft. I'm surprised that Zucc isn't mentioned as a keeper. I have seen multiple projections that has him higher than Perry.

I know I need to shake up this roster to keep it in contention, I just don't know where to even start and how many young pieces I should keep or trade for.

if it's thin for goalies in FA then i would go

    Elliot, Keller, Zuccarello, Trouba

if you can easily get him back in the redraft then i would go

    Keller, Zuccarello, Trouba, Dumba

    Coyle, Keller, Zuccarello, Trouba

then try to acquire a starting goalie - Elliott & Mason are going to both platoon and leave you yearning for more. Agree with trading Giroux (everyone should trade the sinking ship)
