I think he has 1-2yrs on the Canadiens to prove he's worth a spot, then gets moved for a vet scorer.
I also think he doesn't want to be a Canadien but doesn't hate it enough to make this into a situation.

I like these kinds of deals. If Galchenyuk does well then the Habs likely will also do well, and Galchenyuk may be more inclined to re-up after this contract. If he struggles a bit then it's not a huge problem.
