Struggled with the Panthers, but he actually had some good moments in a backup role with Colorado. Good pickup by the Ducks.
Just learned from Swiss newspapers that Reto Berra has signed with the Ducks. Probably not big news outside of Switzerland, but after Gerber and Hiller it continues a nice tradition of the Ducks giving Swiss goalies a chance.
No details about the deal yet, but it can't be too bad as Berra had already signed a lucrative contract with a Swiss club and is now using his NHL out-clause.
With Gibson being no1 and Miller also signed, I wonder wether he still got a 1-way deal though.... Anyway, I'm sure hoping he does well, as he wasn't able to show the NHL what he 's capable of yet.

I'm surprised he can't land a backup gig somewhere.

I think his recent performance in the NHL has soured GMs on him a bit. I agree that he probably would do well on a team with a high volume goaltender, getting just a few starts here and there. Somewhere like Edmonton.
This guy has done nothing...NOTHING! Fake News! lol well... irrelevant news IMO.
.918 and .922 save percentage in a backup role in Colorado in back to back years seems to indicate that when used correctly he can do alright.

Interesting signing... probably good security with Gibson recent health issues and Millers age.
Interesting. Wonder if he starts in the A?
If he had a lucrative Swiss contract already I don't really understand the decision from his standpoint though.
I also don't get it unless he thinks/hopes that he can grab a backup position eventually. Have to think he is behind both Miller and Gibson right now.
it's a one year, one way deal for 700k which is actually way less than what he'd have gotten in Switzerland. Good on him for wanting to play with the best and not taking the money only. I hope this risk pays out for him eventually....

Well that's very interesting then. He must still feel he can play at the NHL level eventually.
didnt think he would find another job in the nhl again. hopefully it works for him but doubt he stays in the nhl long
at 700k, I see him going on waivers, playing in the ahl, and hoping for an injury...
If that was his plan then why wouldn't he just stay home? Really odd.
