What are we thinking here? 40 points with a ton of hits?

A ton of hits? Probably somewhere around 80 to 100, so that's not a ton.

He needs to show something quickly (in a year or two) or otherwise Miro Heiskanen will come and take his spot and push Lindell down a bit. But I'm thinking more like 30 points. 40 points would be an amazing year for him.

As an owner, I would like nothing more than that to happen. Unfortunately, I think Lindell will be a better real-life asset than a fantasy one. I'm expecting 30pts going forward but secretly hoping for 35. I don't see him getting anything more than that unless Klingberg goes down long term.

I don't see him stealing away much pp time from Klingberg and, in the not so distant future, guys like Honka and Heiskanen. You'd have to think 40 points would be a career year for him where everything breaks right. As others have mentioned, better real life asset than fantasy player.

More money could also mean more opportunity as well.

Many posts about Lindell over the last few weeks. Do a quick search......

    Lindell
    - Honka and Klingberg are both righties....Lindell is a leftie, but so is the recently drafted Heiskanen
    - started the year with a minor injury/sickness
    - missed the first couple games
    - started playing average 15 min a game when he got back
    - scratched for a game
    - sent down for a few
    - recalled and has played over 20 minutes for every game except a half dozen or so.
    - has averaged around 23 minutes since Feb 1
    - is a +9 on a terrible Dallas team. Next best defender is Klingberg at +1. Everyone else is a minus.
    - only shooting about 1.2 times a game, that needs to increase to around 2.

He was really gaining momentum as the year went on.

Lindell will highly depend on what Hitch thinks of him. New contract is a good sign. However, new coach changes everything.

Are blocked shots Hitchcock's thing? I'm in a league that counts blocked shots - I think I can get Lindell pretty cheap (mid round pick) but curious if he can hit 150 blocked shots?

Would you replace Hamonic (at $4.8M) with Lindell (at $2.1M)?

He'll outpoint Hammer... maybe break even in hits, but lose massively in blk shots. That's a risk reward move I would make. not sure Hammer's peripheral #'s make him worth 4.8m in fantasy hockey.

Seeing as Hammer is now behind Gio & Hamilton for PP time... not going to happen. At best he was a 30pt dman. Don't expect that... At least Lindell offers the tools to surpass 30pts. It's opportunity that will handcuff him (Unless Dallas thinks they should move him to Van to get Tanev)

Is Honka more offensively inclined than Lindell? Who is the #2 option after Klingberg on Dallas? I have Honka on the farm and whiffed on getting Lindell to cover my bases.

Honka over Lindell for offense.. Honka plays an all-out offensive game. Watched him more than a handful of times in the AHL. He goes for the net. Lindell may be more two-way.
