Love it for the yotes, they desperately needed a C to take tougher matchups until Strome is ready.

I think market dictates. They have lots of young players. The trade market is giving them sweetheart deals. So take advantage and go for it.

Makes it much easier to shelter Strome, Keller, Chychrun, etc now.

I like the move for ARI. Losing Deangelo sucks, but they have revamped their D-core. Whole new look going into next season.

Wonder how Yotes actually valued him. 19th overall value, or 37th overall (what they traded to get him)? Teams won't admit what they value their players as but it's gotta be there for what you actually acquired him for, at least influences the decision a bit.

they just acquired a #1C, starting G and have OEL & Chychurn for offensive D... I think DeAngelo was seen as expendable based on that. To fill to large voids/holes and give Strome some time to grow into a larger role.. huge trade for Arz.

I'm not sold on Raanta as a starter. Very solid backup for hawks and rangers but that can be said for several other goalies that failed when given an opportunity to start.

That thought crossed my mind too. But it's equally possible that DeAngelo now IS the puck moving RHD that fills the void?

A lot cheaper, and Shatts certainly didn't do himself any favors during his stint in WAS to justify the likely cost of acquiring his services.

Personally I'm not a big fan of Talbot but that's not the point. They can end up with two mediocre goalies dragging them down like has happened with CAR the last several years. It's a big shot in the dark IMO.
