Two takes on this.
1. I like Chayka. I think he's got a solid eye for milking the system for assets. Arizona needs to do things differently to win in the NHL. Arizona wasn't going to become a winner with the same ol' system, so Chayka is a good risk. They've got to try something and a complete youthful overhaul is the correct thing to try. New blood.)
2. But... GM-ing is sort of an "old boys club". I think most GMs feel that its a spot that is earned... not just deserved. Societies, communities, clubhouses... they get ruined when there is a guy in a high position and others have been working harder... longer. Doan is older than Chayka. Tippett is well older than Chayka. That just doesn't go well. If any of you out there have EVER had a younger boss, it would be very clear how neither Doan or Tippett really can deal well with this. When an organization brings in a "different breed" for a while - even an a-hole, if you will - there's a LOT of overhaul you can do on a cozy-system that people have gotten too used to. And everybody deals with the overhaul and points a finger at one guy and says "He's hard to work for". Mmhmm, I agree - but maybe some things that weren't good things can be overhauled.
So...

Good for Tippett
Good for Doan
Good for Arizona
This is the way it needs to be. It sucks a bit... but this is best for everybody.

Tippet's a good coach but his time had definitly passed in arizona and I am glad as an owner of a few arizona prospects. I saw elliotte friedman tweet Todd Nelson's name as a possible replacement... I have to say I could see it. He just won the AHL championship, he works well with young players, seemed pretty good when he intermed for the oilers.
