I was just taking a look through the latest top 200 prospects that this site just put out, and I was curious as to why joel Eriksson ek fell so far down. anyone have any insight? we usually get an article talking about the top risers, but we don't get much in the way of fallers.

Don't worry about it. EK had an impressive showing last year with Minnesota and in no way did his stock drop.

Difference between 13 and 25 is slim to nothing. The hype on others just rose a lot more over the course of the last couple of months. I wouldn't worry about it. He is in good company.
The top 40 are, for the most part, all studs.

Very close. I would lean towards Schmaltz whose defensive game improved significantly last season. He has excellent vision and playmaking and he will be but in the top 6 in Chicago. To be honest, besides monitoring EK's progress through blogs and forums, I didn't see him play much while I saw most of Schmaltz's games.

It seems his prospect score did drop slightly. May: 71, June: 66.8. Perhaps that score is also relative. Also, that is less than a 5pt drop, so basically negligible, as others have said. 71 would put him at 12th in June as opposed to 13 in May, so I think it is situational and not a matter of other players rising.
My guess for the slight drop would be Luke Kunin. The reason can be found in the prospects report. Don't want to give it away.

Don't forget the rankings also consider opportunity... Ek is good but is there a ready made spot in the top 6 right now? Expansion draft could see him climb back up again...

With the utmost respect to Dobbers rankings, and anyone else's rankings, I use them as a guide and not as a bible. What one person considers a players ranking to be vs another is just an opinion and you are also entitled to one. If you think he should be higher (or lower) than some of the names around him for whatever reason then don't be afraid to go with that. In the end, you are the fantasy GM of your own teams. We (including Dobbers rankings) are simply here to help make decisions. We don't always agree and that's the fun part.
