Shocking news today in regards to Dobber's health.

Thought it would be a good idea to start a thread so forum members can share stories, pass along their thoughts/good wishes/encouragement to Dobber and his family or simply help spread the word about the importance of being an organ donor or donating blood.

Although I have been blessed with good health (so far), I have been touched by cancer with the loss of family members and friends. I also have family and friends that have gone through treatment and are still with us today - thankfully.

Best wishes to Dobber and his family - if anyone can beat this Dobber can!!

Dear Darryl, I do not know you personally but you and your great community have been part of my life for the past 10 years! I just read your post about your health and I am very saddened to hear the diagnostic that you've been dealt. I know this is very impersonal but I wish you courage and strength during the bumpy road ahead and if anyone knows how stats and probable outcomes work, it's you!

I know that this community will be behind you, sending their positive thoughts and prayers your way. Be strong; your close friends and family will be there for you; so will we!

Keep us posted and if there is anything we can do, please do not hesitate.

Best wishes to you, Dobber, you know that we are all pulling for you!

To echo Dobber's thoughts on the bone marrow registry, it's super easy to register and while it is diffiuclt to match donors with recipients, it is highly unlikely you'll ever be a donor. I put my name down about 20 years ago (through our local blood donor clinic) but have never been contacted. It's an easy way to give back to the community and you could save someone's life.
