Trade Doughty, Carlson or Barrie for Werenski?

Points only dynasty keeper, is it a good use, or is it too much of a risk that Werenski is a one hit wonder who overachieved this season?

Doughty yes. Barrie it's close and Carlson, No.

I see Werenski getting close to 45 points. He's a solid dman but he benefited big time from an overachieving PP and way high shooting %'s from a huge chunk of the CBJ roster.

Carlson had the opposite year. Should bounce back big.

It is a gamble, especially since Suter is no longer LA's coach. Carlson would have been my easy choice in points only. Good luck. You seem to have a lot going on, I'd slow down a bit and wait a day or 2 for responses.

Haha, fair enough. I definitely like to move quick on trade possibilities. Getting a first in next year's draft was too much to resist, and I like to keep my team young too. Doughty certainly wasn't old, but he was one of the oldest on my whole team.

I'm not sold on the Jackets and if I'm moving a piece like Doughty I like everyone to know he's available to maximise my return.

One question though - the guys 1st you acquire, with landing Doughty, must be all in on this season, and with your team I'm not sure how you compare but how big is that gap likely to be between the 1st rounder and your 2nd rounder?

Good question. I think my team will do better than his, so I think it could be a pretty high first I got. Only time will tell!

Thanks! Speaking of defencemen, I just traded away Martin Jones for OEL. We are only allowed 4 total goalie starts a week, and I've got Holtby and Grubauer left. My D (second team in sig) used to be pure garbage, but I think I've turned them around pretty good in just a month or so.

Your D looks solid. I'm a big fan of Parayko and I think OEL is going to bounce back in a big way. I'd love to get my hands on S Jones too. He's going to have a nice year playing beside werenski.

Risky move considering we don't know what happens with Grubauer yet... Personally I would have waited for clarity on that situation first. Holtby/Jones was a rock solid goalie tandem. OEL is a nice bounceback candidate, though.

For sure. It's more than I'd usually give up, but there are plenty of decent backups on good teams that I can snag if need be. I think goalies are quite devalued in this format (max 4 starts per week total), personally.

I just picked up Bernier as a reserve goalie. Good team, will get wins when he is played. Makes losing Jones a bit easier, I think.
