Unless he sticks on PP1 he won't get a pastrnak breakout. I don't think he will but it all depends on what happens this offseason.
Caps will probably give him a bridge deal so they can get him cheaper now for their window to compete.
Anyone want to take a stab at guessing his next deal.
Will he get the Kuznetsov - style bridge deal?
Will they try to lock him up long term at a lower aav?
Ive read in many places that Bura is expected to be in the top 6 next year. If that happens, what are some realistic projections for the guy?
Could we see a Pastrnak - like breakout. His P60 are similar to what Pastrnak had last year and when Pasta got the extra ice and PP time, he broke out in a big way. Could we see the same think happen with Burakovsky?

I say something like Galchenyuk's last contract: 2 year deal at something around $3m per. (Galchenyuk was at 2.8 I think whereas Burakovsky should get a tad more than 3)
I can see him breaking 50 with some top-6 time next year. Add PP time and he's a lock for 50+ IMO.

if they think he's going to be elite, or s bonafide top 6. They should be skipping the bridge deal in an attempt to lock him up longer term - pay slightly more now for a discount later in the contract.
6yrs 4-5m per... his value is hard to nail down

Hard to say. He hasnt proved enough to lock up for big money yet.
Im guessing a two year bridge around $3M per.

I suspect a bridge deal so far, as he would need to be consistent throughout the season. No doubt he's had extended runs of greatness, it just needs to stick. My guess is a 2 year bridge at $3.2M perseason, or if they decide to go long term (thinking of having to re-sign Kuznetsov as well), then a 6 year/$24M deal. I don't think he gets more than $4M per in any scenario though.

I think the Kuznetsov style bridge deal is a very good estimate. A couple years at just a touch over $3 Mil.

(No I don't have a hockey problem...)
2 years at a max of 4... Which potentially means Oshie won't be back and will play right into that bridge deal...

If that is the case
Experience is the teacher of all things.
He's a forward, so it'll be a bridge. Forwards have to essentially force the team to pay them by having big results - defensemen get paid on potential.
