Would You Give Giroux for Drouin, Points Only Dynasty?

Tough call for sure. In a cap league, I'd make that deal. Without salary taken into consideration, I think I'd pass on the deal, though I might regret that decision this time next year. I guess I can't really fault you if you did make the deal. It could be a great deal or a really bad deal by this time next year. Really hard to say. Depends on how much you like to gamble, I guess.

What if I got him to add Alex Nylander to the deal? Do it then? What do you guys think of the younger Nylander?

I moved Giroux for Honka, Pulock & N. Ritchie in my league in sig. With G. there's always a chance you eat this deal the next two years, but after that Nylander & Drouin will be into the 60's on an annual basis. I don't see Giroux really eclipsing 70 again, or if he does I don't think it'll be more than a one off season.

If the other owner is willing so quickly to add A. Ny to Drouin, there might be more room to squeeze extra. As it stands, I'd still say yes and pull the trigger. I'd tell the other owner you're really hesitant to let him go at such a discounted price - get more.

He turned down Drouin & Alex Nylander for my Giroux, so I think we're done trying to deal for now. I think my plan will be to hope Giroux has a solid portion of play next season and flip him then. Could always bite me if he goes abysmal, but he's only 29 so it's not like he's about to retire.

The other GM is looking at your Giroux when Giroux is at his lowest value in years(!). Giroux put up 73, 67, 58 points over the last three seasons while only missing 4 total games. Over the last three years he has averaged 66 points. Giroux should be valued as a 66 point player.

Flip it around... Would you give up Drouin & Nylander for a 66 point player?

No; Duchene situation is too rocky and Larkin coming off horrendous season. All the trends point to G on the decline at age 29 but he still cannot be cast off ya gotta bank on a rebound still unless the return really skyrockets which it will not because his value right now is garbage. Just retain your asset let someone come forth with something legit if they really want G.

I agree with this take. I wouldn't trade Giroux for Drouin, DUchene or Larkin. Maybe 2 of the 3 if keepers permitted it but that's a different story
