You know it isn't a brand of beer, right?

Figured as much. But if it has alcohol in it, I'll try it.

It might contain some alcohol, but basicaly Kombucha is drink based on fermented black or alla green tea with some bacterias. It tastes... Really bady And actually dagens casino there is no evidence that drinking Kombucha has any health benefits at least according to Sweden.

You can read a little bit more on wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kombucha

The Japanese will eat and drink stuff that most of us would consider awful. I visited a friend in Tokyo and we went to the bar with a Japanese buddy of his and he ordered us some "appetizers". It was like my own personal fear factor. I was looking for hidden cameras. The worst was the cow's ovary. No part of an animal goes to waste. Yay!

My grandma used to make it. I didn't like it as a kid (maybe seeing how it's made was part of it), but I like it now, and it's really good for you. I just don't like that most brands out there are branded with new age hippy nonsense.

I don't mind the taste, actually.

Im going on my third batch.

4L the first time, didn't let it ferment long enough.

8L the second batch. Still drinking it.

8L on the third batch, trying a different black tea.

Kombucha actually doesn't taste too bad in my opinion but it's just the next thing in a long line of BS fads. All kinds of claims about how it's healthy but as far as I know there is zero actual evidence to support those claims, and there is a chance (albeit very low) of some nasty pathogens being grown by home growers, which could even result in death.

Don't drink it for any perceived health benefits, but only because you like the taste, like any other beverage

It's a great alternative to other drinks at home, and fun to make.

Isn't it true that Kombucha is full of anti-oxidants?

Yeah if you enjoy brewing, and the taste of the drink, it seems like something fun to do.

It just doesn't have any health benefits that have been proven as of yet.

I don't consider anti-oxidants a benefit at this point considering the very mixed science on their benefits vs their harm (such as potentially making cancer worse in some situations)

I always thought it was beneficial to drink it.

From the anti-oxidant point, to a better/easier digestive system, to balancing your bodies pH level and detoxing. Those are just off the top of my head. Am I completely off base here?

Some people say it gives them tremendous amounts of energy. Doesn't happen for me. Maybe I don't drink enough?

Does it cure cancer? I obviously don't think so. Theres many claims about Kombucha and, like you, I think many of them are bogus.

One bad thing I know for sure is that it's horrible for your teeth. Way to acidic. I always have a cup of water after drinking Kombucha to wash it down, hopefully.

I can't speak to digestion and anti-oxidants. Not something I have ever taken a look at. However PH levels of the human body being changed by diet, and detoxing the human body, are both completely in the realm of pseudoscience unfortunately.

Enjoy it though - just be aware that there are some potential health risks.
