    Default Brassard ROS

    Hey guys,
Dobber's midseason guide said Brassard would pick things up in the second half of the season so I traded for him in a couple of leagues. Can't say I'm pleased with those trades so far...do you think Brassard turns things up a notch the next few months or is he a lost cause at this point?
    Thanks for your insight.
    Dave

I have Brassard sitting on my bench in a roto league for similar reasons. I still think he picks it up. Apparently alot of hockey people (reporters, GMs, etc) consider Ottawa to be a dark horse for the final quarter of the season. I've heard that from various interviews on radioshows and podcasts, not sure how much weight you can put behind that, but its something.

It's not like he isn't shooting the puck though. As long as he is sitting up around 3sog/game, I will be hanging onto him.

He's on that top PP now too, taking Phaneuf's spot. He also plays on the top line with Mark Stone. I believe he will pick it up going forward.

I like brassard for next year but also think he will have a good run to close out this season. I think he can finish with around 50-55 points. It's been an interesting year. I've been happy with his game, hes actually leading the league in shots for compared to shots against at five on five. He's just not been used consistently on PP1 which brings down the numbers. I think they will start using him more there since the PP has been struggling.

With brassard he came from a team who preached offense way more than defence and he did love New York so it's been an adjustment in Ottawa. He and the other sens look to have fully bought in and learned the new system, so he looks more comfortable offensively as a result.

I own him in a deep league but he is a free agent in my other two leagues. I would keep him depending on the alternatives.

Thanks everyone. Was quite the vote of confidence after last night's performance!

Right now Brassard is in free agency. Trying to decide if he's worth more than Horvat or Leddy ROS (I can probable drop to 4 D and carry another F).
Also waiting to see if Schultz' injury is gonna put him on the IR, in which case would make the decision slightly easier.
