Question Saros - any shot at a permanent job?

I'm considering dropping Seth Jones and grabbing him as my #3 goalie, but I don't have confidence he'll even keep an NHL job for the rest of the season. Thoughts?

Lehtonen, Niemi, Reimer, Markstrom, Greiss, and Hutchinson are also options. Roster/settings in sig.

I'd keep Jones. He is a solid option on the back end for you.

I love Saros but don't see him getting enough starts ROS to be worth the loss of Jones.

I agree with VV, keep Jones.

I believe Saros has a legit chance at eventually getting a permanent gig in the NHL but I wouldn't lose Jones waiting for it to happen.

I really like Saros, but I do not think he will be much help this, year. Of all the other goalies available Reimer is the best Bet. Stars goalies no way. The others meh. If something happens to Rinne, I will be all over it.

    Another vote to keep Jones.

If this was the 2019-20 season, then Saros might be the obvious choice here. But it isn't.

It might take 2-3 years before Saros gives you respectable fantasy numbers - think Rask. Man, I thought Tim Thomas would never move on! Keep Jones.

Right now I'd rather Greiss over Saros but not at that cost TBH

Permanent backup next year, 50/50 the year after, then it's his net if he can grab it.

Winning is everything. Could be Matt Murray 2.0 if the Preda are in a playoff spot and Rinne doesn't regain his form, IMHO.

Big shutout tonight. I'd still keep Jones though for now

    Anyone else?

One game ddnt change anything but it does drive his value up in keeper leagues. Personally I think the time frame remains the same as the Preads aren't a team who walks away/bury/doesn't play a big contract (I'm thinking Ribeiro here after the couple of scratches in the play offs)

1.15 GAA and .957 save% after 6 starts... They certainly owe it to themselves to play him a bit more to see if he can keep it up. How do you not give a guy more opportunities when he is absolutely on fire like that? IMO he has clearly earned every 3rd start until he cools off.

likely not this year, but in 3 years he will be a top 3 goalie in the league of Price, Murray and Rask
