Good for Clutterbuck to cash in but man a $3.5MM 4th liner (sometimes 3rd liner) is tough to swallow in the cap era.

Clusterf...buck and Cizikas cost the Islanders like $7M on the cap. That is pretty poor asset management.

Did they somehow get into a UFA bidding war with themselves? Maybe because he's young (he isn't) and he might improve (he won't) they think this could be a good signing? (it isn't)

I know Clutterbuck is a fan favorite and a good depth player but that contract is just awful. You just cannot build a team like that, you need money for secondary scoring. Wasting it on 4th liners doesn't help.
