I've been offered a deal where I would
drop: Klefbom to grab Chara
Trade: Chara and Zucarello (or Atkinson)
Receive: Ekholm and Killorn
I like Ekholm but am I taking too much of a hit trading either Zucarello or Atkinson for Killorn?

Reason why I would take Chara prior to trade - to make the deal more than a 2-1 deal, we have commish/league review of trades for collusion. But if the league looked at the transaction log it would be apparent I would acquire Chara for nothing (FA) - not sure
In either case this manager felt I wasn't moving quick enough (afraid someone else would take Chara off FA) he dropped killorn to FA.
Dobbs has killorn at 45 pts and playing with Stamkos, he's been good so far but is he just a flash in the pan?

40-45 points seems about right for Killorn.
Seems strange to me that the other GM would have bothered approach you about that kind of move instead of just picking up Chara to begin with.

Killorn is not Zuccarello whatsoever; Zucc is a key cog in offense for NYR and could well be on way to another 60 plus point season; would not be so quick to unload. Ekholm is good but yes, you are giving up too much for someone that will not produce as much as what you have so steer clear. Also Chara past prime do not buy into the name.

we do this in my league sometimes because there are max transactions per season.
ie. If you waste on of your drops for me, I'll give you a little extra in the trade to make up for it.
In this case though, weird. I would keep Klefbom and Zuc over any of the other combos you get back.
