Any chance Hellebuyck gets the number 1 job

I don't know, I'm pretty confident in Hellebuyck. I don't think he immediately gets the starting job but I think he'll take it at some point during the season. Adding him or not though depends on your league

If you have a spot to stash him, I would. In fact, I did . See how things play out. If he gets his shot in the bigs this season he will likely steal a majority of the starts either through injury or his play. He is too good waste another season in the minors and he is Winnipeg's only real shot at a playoff spot.

He will be starting by mid season. Depends on how long you want to wait. Could be the second half savior of 2 years ago ( remember dubnyk and Hammond ?)

The Jets are ready to turn the page, this is Pavelec's last year on his contract, if he falters and the Jets look good otherwise (which they should), I think Helly sees time sooner rather than later. It's gonna be an exciting team to watch over the next few years. But if you can stash him at a reasonable cost I'd do it.

With this though, what team is it in your sig? Interested who you would drop, how many goalies start, who your goalies are, etc. It would help us evaluate a little better.

During the Jets pre-season game last night, this topic was discussed between periods.

The "experts" expect Hellebuyck to start the year in the AHL unless someone gets injured. The whole reason they signed Hutchinson to the two-year deal was to expose him for the expansion draft. They are NOT sending Pavelec down to the AHL as he is the incumbent starter. If they wanted to keep Hellebuyck up, that means they would have to send Hutch down, and if they attempt to do that, he has to clear waivers. That's a big risk because if he gets picked off waivers then that means Hellebuyck gets exposed because Pavelec is a UFA at seasons end. The Jets are not going to take that chance.

Hellebuyck is headed to the AHL to start the year unless there's an injury. That's pretty much a given.

The only other way we see Hellebuyck as the starter this year is if they trade Pavelec. Hutchinson will be there, in the NHL, for the full year to be exposed for the expansion draft.
