Yeesh.... Most common complication is "bone necrosis" - That's really bad.

Mattias Janmark has been diagnosed with Osteochondritis dissecans, a joint disorder, in his knee. Having surgery today, expected to be out at least 5-6 months.
Crushing news for his owners, he looked to be in a great position with Dallas' injury problems. Instead, he becomes the latest victim.
Not going to pretend I know anything about his condition, but it sounds like it is at least potentially career threatening. Nill said they would have a better idea after the surgery, but it is about an 80% chance this will fix it.

Dallas has had a rough go recently with all the injuries.

(No I don't have a hockey problem...)
That sucks and not even from a hockey perspective but a real life perspective. No good interpretation of the word necrosis.
Maybe he never plays again and impacts his normal day to day life,
No Nichushkin, now this, Seguin likely not ready in time for the season Benn nicked up. Rough start for Dallas but unfortunately we all know that the surface hasn't even been scratched for the injuries we are going to see this season for Dallas and the other 29 teams.
Never happen but it would be nice to see a season in a bubble with all 30 teams with their best 20 players out there every night and no injuries to see who the best team really is.

You never like hearing “career threatening” to a kid who’s this young. Should never have to give up on your dream due to a genetically formed injury, or any injury for that matter.
Hockey world is pulling for this guy to recover.

Man this bites. In just one season he's become a huge fan favorite and a valuable contributor. Everybody was so stoked to watch him build on last season's chemistry with Spezza. Wishing him all the best for a full and speedy recovery.
Your beer mug isn't half-empty, your just half-way to the next refill.....
Hope he comes back fit and heathy - are the stars aligning for Ritchie right now or what though?
