    Default Tavares/Wheeler for Draft Picks

    H2H, 10 team league, keep 4.

i am bleeeeeding draft picks going into my draft- no picks until the 4th round, and then none again until the 8th... ugh

Here is a list of players I am either keeping or could possibly trade..

    Crosby
    Tavares
    Panarin
    Wheeler
    Burns
    Quick
    Jones

is it worth moving a combo of Tavares/Wheeler for two 1st round picks (4th and 8th overall) and a 2nd round pick (16th overall)? I'm not gaining much traction by trying to trade just Panarin or Wheeler by themselves... if I don't make any moves it's going to be a sad draft day for me.

I would be happy moving both of them with the options that you still have left. Then I would put Quick/Jones/Panarin on the block, and see where you get your biggest bite.

I'm not sure I'd trade a slightly better chance at winning this year for Tavares forever. In a keep 4 Crosby and Tavares should be in touchable unless your getting a top 10 forward in a package in return. I'd much rather trade your #3 and/or #4 keepers to fill out rounds 5, 6 and 7, or package a couple players for a 2nd or 3rd.

I'd be fairly comfortable trading Tavares as your keepers would still be Sid, Quick, Jones and Burns - I guess the bigger question is whether the picks nets you players that replace that lost offence

I'm with Sulla in regards to the 4 keepers regardless of trades as your goalies account for 40% of your stats and both Quick and Jones should be beasts here. Use the others for ANY type of return. I mean, you are going to lose them for nothing, right? If Tavares and Wheeler fetch you 2x 1st rounders and a 2nd rounder, you gain something valuable instead of losing your assets for nothing. I doubt you can use both players to upgrade 1 of your 4 keepers (you'd have to trade that 4th keeper afterwards to avoid losing him for nothing too...).

Is your question more in the sense of SHOULD you do it or COULD it work?

I'm with junyab, I wouldn't be trading my best keepers in a keep 4, especially for draft picks. Crosby and Tavares would be untouchable unless I'm upgrading one of them (highly unlikely).

Pick your next 2 keepers and do that best you can with the others. I wouldn't worry too much about goalies as it's only a 10 team league and they vary so much year to year. Keep one of them, but not two. There will be too many decent ones available for redraft.

Looks to me like you took a shot at the championship last year by moving all your draft picks. Hopefully it worked out, because you're likely stuck in a rebuild this year, even if you did trade Tavares for a 1st. Draft the best you can, then try and build a nice draft stock to take a good run next year.

I came 3rd last year... I definitely had the best roster, my matchup just didn't work out for the semi-finals. Looking at the numbers for the final week of playoffs, i would have destroyed anybody in any matchup.. But such is the fantasy life.

I'm always in the mood to win every year. Im not a rebuilder. If i need to trade Tavares to have a chance at winning I will do it. I looks as though i could trade Tavares/Wheeler for maybe a 1st rd and 2 2nd rd picks.

But I will try to sell whatever i can to regain some draft picks. There are going to be some damn good players in the first few rounds and I want a piece of that. If i trade Tavares it also makes it easy to keep both goalies- then i wouldn't have to worry about drafting one. T

Though i did get an offer to trade Quick for a 3rd rd pick... Ive also got an offer to trade Panarin for a 3rd and 7th... So many decisions to think about!!

If that is the best offer for Panarin it is already a no brainer IMO

Yes as he a ways away from being a keeper for you so it is just sound asset management getting something for him
