According to Fantrax, Sergachev had 5 hits in his first preseason game (against Ottawa), so there might be some multi-cat potential there as well. Of course it's pretty common that rookies play more physical when trying to impress but I like seeing that from a young D-man trying to make the team. Just don't expect him to get 5 hits every game.

If he turns into a multi cat guy then that's even better news... Wasn't it v Ottawa he got blind sided the last time they played as well though? Not saying he was more motivated for that game but....
Experience is the teacher of all things.
I think it was, yes. And like I said, rookies often do this kind of hitting when they're trying to impress. But just that he has the courage to throw his body around against NHL player as an 18-year-old 'D', that's good news for his multi-cat potential. Most guys his age aren't even capable of doing that.
You don't have to throw huge open ice hits to be a multi-cat guy in fantasy hockey. The small hits count the same as those huge ones.
unless you play in Brookly... anything is a hit there lol
Wasn't there a survey done a while ago that looked at how generous some rinks were to hits than others? do we think it has ever really evened out?

This is what I'm wondering too. Thinking about stashing him in my roster with my last pick because we don't have a farm system, but not sure if it's worth the risk (DeAngelo has been drafted and dropped twice in our league already, and probably drafted a 3rd time this year!).

Depends on how he does in those nine games. The Habs actually have a lot of D (Weber, Markov, Emelin, Petry, Beaulieu, and Pateryn are regulars, and Barberio can also fill in if needed). So if he struggles, he'll be sent down. If he plays great, he'll probably stay up.
