A guy in my league has been tying to get McDavid from me for a week now. We've been shooting offers back and fourth, and he just turned down an offer that would have me sending McDavid for Seguin, Klingberg, Marner and Provorov.
He just sent me a counter offer.. My McDavid and 18th overall pick (rookie only draft) for his Seguin,Klingberg and Provorov.. Do I pull the trigger or hold?
He has players like Pickard, Dumba, Kyle Connor, Meier, Crouse, and Vesey that I could try to add to the end to make things work because i feel as though we're getting close on a deal.
I traded Gaudreau, Jake Allen and Domi for McDavid to begin with at the start of last season if that's any kind of factor.

If you can squeeze a prospect out of the deal as well I have absolutely no issues with this deal (though granted I am one of the few that would actually trade !cDavid anyway)

If he truly wants McDavid (who wouldn't), you shouldn't have to add anything to him to make a deal. Remember, he's chasing you, not the other way around.
I'd tell him if he wants the pick in there, then you want someone like Kyle Connor or Timo Meier in the deal as well. If he whines about that, then you still own McDavid. Nothing wrong with that.

This.........i would prefer marner over connor but you need that top notch prospect in there. Thats the price if he isnt wiling to pay it then he can take a walk

Agreed 100%. The deal looks GOOD but should be GREAT and a no-brainer in you're going to deal Macky D. You need an overpayment and without Marner, the deal (which is FAIR) wouldn't be sweet enough if I were you.

The guy is saying now that he can do Provorov and Meier OR DeAngelo and Connor but he can't do Provorov and Connor.. And he wants my first round pick (6th overall)
So the new deal would be McDavid and 6th Overall rookie pick for his Seguin, Klingberg, and either Provorov/Meier or DeAngelo/Connor.
Any thoughts? Stumped now.

I hate when guys desperately want someone and they come to you to get him. But then they try and dictate and control the situation. NO DEAL. He wants someone you tell him what you want and he gives it.
He has absolutely no leverage in this situation unless you give it to him.

Tell him thanks for the talks and you are going to keep McDavid. Remember, just because you engaged in trade talks doesn't mean you have to make a trade. You are allowed to walk away.

Hard to analyze this offer without knowing how many starters at each position, and daily/weekly changes.
You already have 6 very strong D - hard to say how much "extra" you get from adding Klingberg.
You appear to be weakest (relatively speaking) at goalie - no coincidence, as Allen was part of the package for McDavid in the first place.
Without knowing more details, it's possible your team will not be any better off from this trade. And with this trade, you might even be worse off compared to your team before you acquired McDavid.
The devil is in the details...and you haven't given them out.
