We're on the updates! Hang tight...

Note that these look nearly identical to the changes that Fantrax rolled out about a month ago.

I'm a little late to the party, but are you sure these changes are in effect. For example, on my Yahoo roster the splash page shows that Ryan Johansen lost his RW eligibility, however when you click the recent news button and click the player's history button, it shows as of Aug 9 that they added C and RW.

It says that for Giroux, Burns, etc.
12 team Rotisserie league (No positional requirements: 7 Keepers of which 2 must be Farm eligible).
    Active Roster consists of: 6 FW, 4 D, 2 G and 6 Bench.
    Scoring Cats: G (10x), A (10x), SOG (10x), HT (10x), BS (10x), PIM (10x), TK (10x), +/- (5x); W (10x), SV (10x), SO (5x)

FW: Draisaitl, Pastrnak, Keller, Jarvis, Barbashev, Kyrou, Raymond
D: Dobson, Nurse, Sergachev, Andersson, Zadorov, York
    G: Oettinger, Raanta, Copley, Vejmelka
    IR: Hamilton
Farm (165 games for F/D and 100 games for G): Wolf, Fantilli

Great discussion in here. I've given my thoughts on this in today's Ramblings.

SJ had him at C2 while Couture was out. (Nov/Dec?)
Most people remember the last 3-4 months while he was lighting it up on the LW of Thornton/Pavelski.

This new position restriction has hooped my keepers....I now have too many C...Crosby, Seguin, Malkin, Scheifele, Kesler, Dubinsky, Trocheck when only 4 can be in my lineup....come on Yahoo fix the eligibilities!

^It was bound to happen one of these years... that it would be fixed.
Center depth is certainly a real issue now.

I even did a pool allocation where I push all C/LW to LW use and all C/RW to RW use...
And the bottom C "on the board" is still WAY more valuable than the bottom LW or bottom RW.

Move them before your co-GMs are hip to this!!!

[Guess I nailed all my threads last week recommending solid wingers over solid center!]

Count me as one of those that just remembers the last few months . Thanks Pengwin.

Overall I really like this and am happy they did it even if it screws me over a little. Just means I have to do some more trading which is never something I complain about.

I’ll need to trade. My team is full of keepers (6 keeper league), but my top 6 are not even. 3 just centers, and 2 D. Then outside my top 6 are D, D, and D lol.
    12 Team, H2H, Keep 6 (in Bold)
G, A, Pts, PPP, FW, SOG, Hits, Blocks
W, Saves, S%, GAA, Game Started

    C: Horvat, Trocheck
LW: J. Robertson, Byfield (C), Guenther
RW: Pavelski (C), Giroux (C), Svechnikov (LW)
D: Fox, Makar, Bouchard, Morrissey, Gudas
    Util: Meier (LW, RW)
    G: Oettinger, Georgiev, Samsonov, Woll

    Oh - don't trade him.
I'm 95% certain that enough people will complain about Hertl's C (rightfully so), that he'll get the LW tacked on VERY soon.
I mean, he played majority season at LW1, so he'll get it. That top line was TOO good for them to not line up again to open season.

Important to note is that at the close of last year Yahoo had 1632 skaters in their system while as of right now there are only 677 skaters. So lots more players to be added.

My timing is very bad because I just finished drafting a deep keeper team using last years positions and have now found that I don't have anywhere near the team I thought I did. I thought I had outsmarted the system but sticking players like Couture and Carter in winger slots. Turns out I just have a pile of centres.

Oh, and I think it was Joe Pavelski not Jeff Carter people were thinking about being C,LW,RW last year.
This is the dark side to all of this. It's going to have a big impact on keeper setups. For instance, now I can't fit Malkin into my starting lineup and may have to trade him. Overall it's good they did it, but a heads up wouldve been nice...

    C - McDavid, Crosby, Tavares
    LW - DeBrincat
    RW - Meier, Miller
    D -
    G - Jarry

I sort of agree, but also disagree.
I remember each of the last two summers giving a lot of people advice that "...IF Yahoo! finally updates their positional eligbility, you may be screwed..."

I mean, McDavid/Crosby/Tavares/Malkin... you really have to always manage your team with a consideration to how fantasy leagues may change.
Banking on Malkin being wing-eligible was a mistake, tbh.
Just because somebody flips heads four times in a row... not a good reason to assume it'll be heads on the 5th flip.

Especially with NHL.com's overhauld this year with a new media server - I actually did speculate that could be the reason that the positions are finally right... the NHL itself finally has a media contract that is supposed to care about the game.

Yup, P.Eng is bang on. Every offseason for the past few years there's been a big chance that wing-eligible Cs would just become Cs. Chickens home to roost!

FHG has the positions updated now.

Don't worry people Yahoo has you covered by adding LW to Datsyuk so he is now C/LW for Arizona.

This has to push Pavelski pretty darn high with his C/RW eligiblity, right?
