Making a play for Price

Was rocked by the fact that Yahoo took Malkin's RW availability away, meaning I now have 4 keepers who are only C eligible.
And considering my goalies suck beyond Quick, I need to do something big.

Would offering up Malkin+ or Tavares(+?) for Price be wise or should I keep my big 4 at C and do something else?

Other team's goalies are Price, Talbot, Niemi

Worth noting I have Lehtonen and he has Niemi

Any reason you have to limit yourself to trading with the one other manager?
Malkin+ for Price is something I would pursue.

Don't box yourself in though. Let the league know that you're looking to make a deal. Yes it puts you behind a step to start, but it gets all the other managers interested and tells them to start bidding.

Personally I would not do it, but can very well understand the rationale behind the move.

Firstly I am not convinced that Price is completely healthy. Hopefully my skepticism is misplaced, but it warrants consideration at least.

A big 4 center approach sounds like the proper move to me. There will be an opportunity down the line to make a goalie move when changes happen and we all know that at least a few goalie changes are coming in the next season or two between expansion etc. I would stand pat with what I had and then look to make a move, rather than acquire an asset that is rising in value.

I think the opportune time to grab Carey was last season. The price has only gone up from there

The Price owner is not going to give him up with out an over pay. If you are cool with that then go for it!

Moving Malkin is a good idea. Getting Price may be tough, because they guy will want value for his uncertain to be healthy player as if they are healthy, and you certain to be unhealthy player isn't so great.

You don't need to do something big, just do something good.

The plus would probably need to be quite a bit, making it an overpayment. But I doubt you get price without overpaying.
I would let all managers know your goalie hunting and see what offers you get.

That sucks! on the Malkin front but (Keep Tavares) overpay abit should be ok.

Malkin is very tough to get value for, even more so with no wing eligibility. You'll need to move Tavares or Crosby if you want to get a goalie. Alternatively, what comes up in the redraft? How many teams protect two goalies?

Kindve tough given his Goalie situation. U can try but unless u blow him away I don't think this happens. If I'm him I want Tavaras +.
Why not look at a team with more Goalie depth that also may need some offence.

A team has expressed interest in malkin, they have tarasenko and gaudreau as their top forwards and Allen as their top goalie. Thoughts?

Malkin may have the odd season where he outperforms Tank but I'd be confident in saying that in 3 years time that Tank will have out produced him over the entire span
