    Well.

That might just break his career.

He was already struggling to stay ahead of young talent coming up.

Agree with rataylor's premise, that's rough on him because there are so many guys ready to pass him. Gives some more ice to Mantha and Pukkinen.

I guess they don't have to trade one for a bit. I can still see Pulkkinen ending up somewhere else

well he caught a break, just the wrong kind yeh ?

I had acquired him in one of my leagues as an expansion team with little or no talent with the hopes he could catch fire with an opportunity going into next season. Looks like I was the one getting burned.

Wish it had worked out for him and perhaps he returns stronger than ever and puts up some major points down the stretch, but I for one will worry about that when he actually skates in the NHL.

A back injury is never "minor".

I will be dropping him as soon as I finish posting here
Consider Sim Hockey because guys who play shutdown minutes, deflect shots and clear creases build championships. Yet in fantasy they litter the unwanted UFA lists.

Same - was a throw in in a cap dump I made last year and I was hoping would be the dark horse sleeper... Now he looks more likely to be put down than be a thoroughbred

Do you turn an old hockey player into glue? Is THAT what makes the tape stick so well??

I hope he sticks better as glue than he does in the wings rotation!

The Wings need offense badly so if he brought more to the table he would climb the depth chart quickly. But with just seven total goals the last two years... yikes!

Pulkkinen will be starting on IR as well will he not? Franzen(LTIR and done regardless), Vitale(maybe LTIR due to the concussion thin as well that EV Sheiky will assure you is not an issue in the NHL), now Jurco as well.

Saarijarvi though not related to the NHL roster is injured as well and all signs point to Kronwall being ready for camp.

With all the fossils in the lineup I'm not sure where you put a Mantha or an AA where it would make sense. As a 13th F it's pointless to have them sitting in the pressbox instead of getting regular playing time in the AHL.

The spots could flip flop a little-Tatar and Z specifically but I think this is the lineup opening night.

    Tomas Tatar-Dylan Larkin-Justin Abdelkader
    Henrik Zetterberg-Frans Nielsen-Gustav Nyquist
    Thomas Vanek-Darren Helm-Riley Sheahan
    Steve Ott-Luke Glendening-Drew Miller

I can see Eric Tangradi as the 13th F since it won't matter a lick if he sits and twiddles his thumbs in the pressbox.

When an injury hits a top 9 player then Athanasiou-Mantha are up in that order. Bertuzzi could supercede Tangradi I suppose but still better for him to be playing than sitting.

Disagree. Testing the arena food is an important job. Totally unfair to say it won't matter a lick.

Jurco has never really been much of an offensive force no matter where he played, at any level, so I dont know why folks seem to think he is a top-six player in the NHL.
