    Default fantasy hockey geek

    Hey all –

This is the first year i have purchased fantasy hockey geek, and just had a couple of questions for my league in signature.

Likely due to the positional requirements in our league: start 1c,1lw,1rw, 3 def, 3util, the fhg software has dmen as the most valuable players in our league (except for the top tier goalies). This seems right, although I am surprised by the significant difference in fhg value between dmen and elite-ish forwards. For example, OEL (28 fhg value) is significantly higher than Tarasenko (13 fhg value), eichel (fhg value 4), etc.
Does this seem right to you, am I just naive?

Also, anyone have any idea why only 47 players have a positive fhg value with the rankings (From dobber)? What does a negative value signify (i am confused by this).

    Your thoughts are much appreciated.

Being locked into 3F and 3D means that D has a massive value compared to forwards because they drop off so much more. I would be surprised if they weren't ranked insanely high.
It seems like a very strange league setup, does it not?

perhaps - but we also start 3 util (which are generally forwards), so it is 6 forwards 3 dmen starting each day, which is the same ratio as 12 forwards 6 dmen, which i see in a lot of leagues.

I guess so, but it also easily means that you could have 5F and 4D depending on who is playing that day, so still very D heavy.

Play around with the settings a little and see if it changes. If you plan on having those three utility spots be forwards, put in three forwards instead of utility spots and see if the value changes.
