    Default Top 10 for a multi-cat league?

Who would be your top 10 in a H2H multi-cat league? Here are the categories:

    -G, A, PPP, SOG, +/-, Hits, Blks

    -Wins, Saves, Save %

    Sid
    Benn
    McDavid
    Ovy
    Seguin
    Tavares
    Karlsson
    Stamkos
    Tarasenko
    Giroux

I wouldn't worry too much about the multicat aspect in the 1st round. Get your stars there and worry about the grit later.

I agree with this list and FinnishFlash's logic - hits etc are easy to come by. Point a game players aren't and they have to be your priority

With G, Hits and SOG, Ovy I think has to be #1. Unless you're looking for the next 10 years, then it's McDavid no matter what the cats are.
So flip flop those as my 1/2. Benn is third, Crosby fourth for obvious reasons. Kane fifth as I think he takes a slight step back. Seguin is next as mini Ovie. Karlsson at 7, Tavares 8, Malkin 9, Tank 10.
I wouldn't have a goalie top 10 due to the 7-3 category split. Price and Holtby are in the top 20 though.

My initial thoughts on Ovy as well...at least for this year. So you have McDavid at #2 for this season even?

Thanks for the feedback guys! I've always been curious to see how other GMs approach the first couple rounds in multi-cat setups.

Either second or third. I'm now debating Benn at second. It's that close in my mind though.

I was wondering about the rankings of top D men with our settings, but top 10 worthy? Karlsson has been the only D taken in the first round in our 5 year league history.

Man, it seems odd putting a D man in the top 10 or even just outside, but maybe I've been underestimating their value. I've generally waited until round 2 or 3 to grab my first.

It is toughto fit them in the top 10. Top 25 for sure though, and likely around 15 is where I would start grabbing Buff/Burns, and soon after, OEL.

D are like goalies... You need someone to take one after Karlsson and Burms and then the flood gates open

That list has to include burns....

The thing everyone neglects is value above replacement......EK and Burns are so insanely better than their peer group they could be argued as high as the top 5 in my eyes.....

Not having burns on that list is just nuts

Good point on value above replacement. Where would you place EK and Burns in the list? Just curious.
