    Default Justin Schultz

Hey all. Thinking of keeping Schultz in my league. He would only cost me a 16th round pick and we carry defenseman points, giving defenseman extra value. Please let me know what your expectations are for him this season with Pittsburgh. Thank you in advance.

    P.S.

other potentials on D would be Dumba at 18th or Phaneuf at 17.

I thought he was better than that considering the co. he's surrounded by but no one has him passing 30 really. Anyone else?

He was getting 13-14 minutes per game in PIT and he's not going to be on PP1. It's not a great enough role for him to put up big points. His big opportunity was in Edmonton.

    I agree with this.

I prefer Dumba (with something to prove on his bridge deal) or even Phaneuf.

I agree that his best opportunity was in Edm.....20-30 points is fair for him....I prefer Dumba...

I'm going against the grain and going Phaneuf. Huge PIM totals, and probably another 30 points out of him. Dumba could break out for 40, or he could be smothered by Min's depth on D all the way to 20 points.
I would take both over Schultz though. I agree he's around 25 points, +/- a couple.

Given the categories I'd go with Phaneuf. Easy call.

Ottawa may be better defensively with the new coach... Personally I go Phaneuf

Phaneuf for sure with that setup. You can't control +/- on the best of days.

Phaneuf seems to be the winner here. Thanks all! I did notice Dumba starting to scrap a little bit towards the end of the regular season.

As a Schultz owner, I would trade him for Dumba in a heartbeat.
