Goalie draft strategy
Drafting soon. This year we are going to a daily lineup set. My thought is instead of using a high pick for a goalie, would I be better off drafting a tandem on the same team that has a stingy D? Using the higher pick for skaters? Goalie pairings you would suggest?
League is 8 teams HTD. 5 skater catagories. Three catagories for goalies GAA, wins, goals against.
HTH Daily League, 8 teams, (goals, ppp, +/-, assists, SOG, W, GAA, SV%) keepers in Bold.
C (s3) EP40, Trocheck, Marchessault LW, Horvat
LW (s3) Johnny Hockey, Parise, Terivinen RW, Meier RW
RW(s3) Wheeler C, Taresenko, Atkinson, Gallagher
Until(s1)
D (s4) Carlson, Yandle, Jones, Trouba
G Dubnyk, Rittich, Markstrom, Binnington
IR Ehlers, Hall

Best bets for a value goaltending duo would probably be Niemi/Lehtonen (as long as it's not a cap league), Reimer/Luongo, Mason/Neuvirth.
With 8 teams in the league though, you should be able to get at least one top goalie without reaching very far. I definitely wouldn't want to be going in with just these kind of tandems.

In an 8 team league I wouldn't worry too much about grabbing a goalie early. With only 8 teams, each team is likely to have 2 solid starters.

agree with the concensus... I would though draft BPA... you should still land a goalie in at least one of each tier TBH
